Elkhart (Indiana) Rotary Club

I'm sometimes asked how I came to be a member of the Elkhart Rotary Club when I live south of Goshen.  There are five or six other Rotary Clubs that meet closer to where I live than the one attend at The Matterhorn north of Elkhart.  Back in 1999, Menno Travel had recently bought Four Seasons Travel in Elkhart.  Best Man at our wedding, Ron Stoll, a member of Elkhart Rotary, invited me to join.  I did so to build the business of Menno Travel in Elkhart and because my business partner, Geof Landis, was already active in Goshen Rotary.

I've maintained perfect attendance almost from the start and "been through the chairs" as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President, President-Elect, President (2012-13), and finally Past-President.

I've been honored by the district and club with the Avenues of Service recognition, the Woodruff Key Award for Meritorious Service, and the prestigious J & K Kissinger Award as the outstanding Rotarian for District 6540 in 2015-16.

I continue involvement with the Rotary Foundation Committee, Membership Committee, J & K Kissinger Award Committee.
